Recipe Roundup: Espresso balsamic

This balsamic is available only seasonally, so when you see it (usually in the fall), stock up!

This aged balsamic is amazingly complex, with layers of authentic espresso and dark roasted coffee extract. It makes a fantastic glaze or bar-b-que base for pork, beef or chicken. It’s beautiful on Italian-style desserts with cream or even used as a glaze for roasted vegetables.

Unique serving suggestion: Add a shot to an “affogatto float,” which calls for a tall mug filled with scoops of vanilla gelato and topped with coffee.

Espresso Balsamic & Orange Roasted Pears
Sometimes the best flavor comes from the fewest ingredients. Our infused balsamic packs a lot of flavor in a bottle, and, of course, fresh fruit that is selected by our produce buyer is going to have incredible flavor on its own. You’ll love the versatility of this dish! The pears are great on their own, atop ice cream or steel cut oats, on a salad or even alongside pork. Serves 4 to 6.

Raspberry Tart with Chocolate & Espresso Ganache
This decadent dessert is a beauty to behold and a breeze to whip up. Incorporating Sigona’s Espresso Balsamic adds an underlying rich and caramely sweetness to the ganache. Dust the finished product with extra powdered sugar, if desired. Inspired by Heather Christo. Serves 6 to 8.
