Go ahead…
Wine a bit with Brie…
but don’t forget you can get the Brie and wine for free!
Wine and Brie… paired with a French baguette you have the goods for an ideal picnic in the park (may we suggest a stroll at Sawyer Camp Park, picnic basket in hand, and choosing a bench that is close to the water for a little romantic getaway). While Brie and wine are quite perfect alone, you can dress the Brie to impress with a few simple ingredients.
Fruit & Nut
Topped Brie
This is a simple and easy way to enjoy Brie without the hassle of baking.
Ingredients
-
A wedge of Brie
-
2 TBL of three or more of your favorite dried fruits and nuts (such as dried diced Blenheim apricots, figs, walnuts, cashews, Crimson Golden raisins and cranberries)
-
1 package flatbread crackers
Directions: Place Brie on a serving platter with a cheese knife or small spreader. Add flatbread crackers to the platter arrange neatly around the wedge. Sprinkle 2 TBL of each dried fruit and nut over the top of the wedge and around the platter for decoration. Serve.
Cook’s Note: This also works well with a Brie round. Just increase your ingredients accordingly. We chose the wedge because we think you might like to try it with your FREE Brie this weekend!
