In the Store with Sigona’s Featuring: Robbie’s Summer Produce Picks!

Summer is here, which means amazing produce awaits!

Our Produce Buyer, Robbie Sigona, gives us the lowdown on what great produce items to look for in our stores! Check out the video below:

The local white corn from Brentwood is tender, fresh, and excellent. The Mini Charm Cherry Tomatoes from Sacramento are fantastic and bursting with flavor. Robbie says these are the best cherry tomatoes of the year! The Kent mangos are peaking right now and are cutting great. Kents are excellent and full of flavor. One of our favorite produce items that we’re featuring this season are the California Clean Growers Stone Fruit.  These come from Sweet Home Ranch in Dinuba, CA. Some other excellent produce items we’ll be getting in this season are:

Rainier Cherries: Rainier Cherries are named after Mount Rainier and have a beautiful yellowish red skin. They’re sweet and delicious!

Orondo Cherries:  These cherries will be coming in today and they’re similar to a Rainier cherry. Orondo Cherries are grown on the banks of the Columbia River in eastern Washington. The hot summer days and cool breezes create excellent growing conditions for these delicious cherries.

Organic Blenheim Apricots: These apricots are locally grown in Brentwood and we’re so excited to get these in. They’re delicious, juicy, and sweet.

Local Organic Strawberries: These strawberries are organic and grown locally in Watsonville. They’re sweet and juicy and we currently have a great sale happening in our stores! Check out some delicious strawberry recipes using Sigona’s Olive Oils & Balsamics here!

Local Organic Blueberries. These blueberries are grown locally in Watsonville. They’re sweet and have an excellent pop of flavor.
