Make Valentine’s Day Delicious

Champagne is a must for celebrations, including Valentine’s Day! We have two serving suggestions for making the most of the bubbly, whether you’re a dining duo or celebrating solo.

Start the day with a blushing mimosa made with blood orange juice (get fresh-squeezed blood orange OJ in our markets when locally grown blood oranges are in season, typically mid-January – February). This juice is incredibly popular among customers and staff alike!

End the day with a steak dinner, accompanied by a bowl of Truffle Button mashed potatoes, which pair excellently with a glass of bubbly! Truffle Button is made for us by Stepladder Ranch & Creamery in Cambria, Calif. We provide Stepladder Ranch & Creamery with the truffles, and they make this outstanding, triple crème, bloomy rind delicacy just for us. There is nothing else like Truffle Button in the marketplace!

“We created this cheese that is delectable and creamy without the overpowering taste of fresh truffles,” said Jack Rudolph, a third-generation farmer who is the owner and cheesemaker at Stepladder Creamery.” The truffles add just enough accent, like chocolate shavings on a vanilla cream cake.”

The perfect ratio for a mimosa is equal parts juice to sparkling wine. If you’re making a pitcher for a crowd, you may want to cut back on the wine a little, but that’s entirely up to you. We squeeze blood orange juice daily in our markets, using locally grown blood oranges!
